Jodie Emery

Jodie Emery is a Canadian cannabis activist, politician and business owner. She is the wife of activist Marc Emery, and owner of Cannabis Culture Magazine, Pot TV, Cannabis Culture Lounge and Cannabis Culture Headquarters.

It's Monday night, June 14th, and I still haven't heard Marc's voice since June 3rd. However, I did get mail from him today! Four letters (out of 6; he's numbered them) arrived and I was so thrilled to hear from him. Here's what he had to say.

On Thursday night, June 3rd, Marc was put into solitary confinement, or "SHU", (Security Housing Unit) at SeaTac Federal Detention Centre (SeaTac FDC) while he awaits his sentencing in September. The reason? For unknowingly breaking an unwritten rule. I haven't heard from him since... Here's what happened.
Activism

CANNABIS CULTURE - For the first time in US history, there is a state initiative to legalize marijuana possession, use, and production for all adults: the California Control & Tax Cannabis Initiative, which will appear on the November election ballot as Proposition 19. Unfortunately, there are some "marijuana activists" who are aggressively opposing the brilliant initiative. In this article I will address some of the myths being told about this initiative, and why I fully support it.

CNN -- The man known as Canada's "prince of pot" is expected to plead guilty today in a deal that could send him to a U.S. federal prison for five years. Marijuana activist Marc Emery is scheduled to appear this afternoon in U.S. District Court in Seattle, Washington, where he will plead guilty to single count of conspiracy to manufacture marijuana.

Supporters often ask how to write a letter to Marc Emery or deposit funds into his prison account. Here is the mailing address and guidelines, and information about how to send Marc money directly.

It finally happened. After five years of global activism, protesting, petitioning, and campaigning that most people believed would save Marc Emery from extradition, the Justice Minister of Canada signed the extradition order for my husband.

...but we hope to have him out on bail again the same day. Marc's bail conditions require that he turn himself in at 9am on May 10th, or when the Justice Minister makes a decision about the extradition. The prosecutor claims that the Justice Minister has all day on the 10th to make a decision, so Marc can get out on bail after 1pm our time (4pm Ottawa) unless he's ordered extradited.

SALEM, Oregon - The sad news has been confirmed. Jack Herer, author of Emperor Wears No Clothes and renowned around the world for hemp activism, has died at 11:17 a.m. today, Thursday April 15th 2010, in Eugene, Oregon.
