Vancouver marijuana activist Marc Emery is taking his last puff of freedom - as the clock counts down on an extradition order that will send him to a U.S. jail for five years.
CANNABIS CULTURE - The severe new drug bill that would have brought mandatory minimum sentences for marijuana crimes to Canada, Bill C-15, has died as a result of the Harper government's decision to prorogue Parliament.
Marc Emery sold large quantities of marijuana seeds to Americans. He will be extradited from Canada to the US in January to serve a five year prison sentence.
Had it not been for the hard work of everyone in lobbying the Senate, C-15 would have passed into law. That's right, we campaigned politically and won! C-15 has been stopped!
