On November 27, I officially resigned my membership in the Canadian Marijuana Party, and my role as Leader of the BC Marijuana Party. I did this so I could join Canada's New Democratic Party, commonly known as the NDP.

When I meet people for the first time and they discover that I edit a marijuana magazine, I am often asked how it is that I manage to fill a regular magazine with articles only about cannabis. "People like to smoke it, and it's against the law," I am told. "What else is there to write about?"

This summer has been a busy and challenging one for the team here at Cannabis Culture. Although we've had some great successes in our effort to change the legal situation in Canada, we've also had to come to grips with some challenging financial realities.

We live in times of great global change and upheaval.

Within the first weeks of 2003 we saw some pretty dramatic events in the weedy world of marijuana.

I recently had the dubious honor of hearing US Drug Czar John Walters speak before the Vancouver Board of Trade. Marc Emery, David Malmo-Levine, Chris Bennett, myself and a few others attended the $60 luncheon, where we booed and heckled the man whose job is to coordinate the entire US drug war.

This summer was a long one for the team at Cannabis Culture, as our rapid growth and expansion presented new and unexpected challenges for us to overcome. Yet we havepersevered and succeeded in achieving some great results.

The coming months are exciting and busy ones for the staff of Cannabis Culture. We are engaged in many new projects which we hope will bring our message of peace and pot to more and more people around the world.
