The Vancouver Police department is working overtime - not fighting crime, unfortunately - but doing their best to make sure Bill C-15 becomes Canadian law.

The Senate has voted to amend Bill C-15. The bill will now go to Third Reading in the Senate, and then will be forwarded back to the House of Commons.

Honourable Senators: I write in advance of your anticipated vote on the Report of the Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs regarding Bill C-15, an Act to Amend the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The Senate Committee studying C-15, a bill that would bring mandatory minimum prison sentences for marijuana to Canada, has given its approval with minor amendments. The bill now proceeds to the Senate for a final vote.
