My husband Marc Emery has been ordered Extradited

It finally happened. After five years of global activism, protesting, petitioning, and campaigning that most people believed would save Marc Emery from extradition, the Justice Minister of Canada signed the extradition order for my husband.

We Were Stunned

We knew sooner or later the day would finally come, but we were all stunned when we found out that Marc Emery would indeed be extradited to the United States by the Conservative government of Canada.

I just learned from Jodie Emery that my longtime very close friend, mentor, and freedom fighter Marc Emery will be extradited to the US to spend 5 years in federal prison for selling marijuana seeds over the internet. Marc turned himself in at 9 a.m. Monday morning to await his fate.

The other day a fellow whom I know asked me what I thought was the most important work marijuana activists can do to further the cause. He clarified that he didn't just mean politics, but that he was speaking about the whole movement in general.

Marc Goes to Jail on Monday Morning, May 10th

...but we hope to have him out on bail again the same day. Marc's bail conditions require that he turn himself in at 9am on May 10th, or when the Justice Minister makes a decision about the extradition. The prosecutor claims that the Justice Minister has all day on the 10th to make a decision, so Marc can get out on bail after 1pm our time (4pm Ottawa) unless he's ordered extradited.
