CANNABIS CULTURE - On the heels of legalization in Washington and Colorado, Victoria activist and author Ted Smith of the the International Hempology 101 Society is touring Eastern Canada presenting cannabis conventions in concert with forming Hempology 101 chapters at the universities of Dalhousie, Mount Allison, Carleton, and Toronto.

The Sensible BC campaign has been getting some of the amazing media coverage over the past few weeks! This month alone, Sensible BC has been covered in over 40 newspaper articles, as well as many stories on the radio and TV. We've even been covered in newspapers in Norwegian and Chinese! Earlier this month, Washington and Colorado voted to legalize recreational marijuana for adults. One week later, Liberal Party of Canada leadership contender Justin Trudeau announced to a high school audience in Prince Edward Island that he is "a huge supporter of decriminalization" of marijuana.

It’s been tried before in Florida and failed. But this week, an advocacy group is working on a new way to make medical marijuana legal in the state. The group wants to get the drug reclassified as a less dangerous substance, a path they’re hoping will lead to doctors being able to prescribe it in Florida.
