Ohio Man Faces 10 Years in Prison For Rice Krispie Squares

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports finding found 4.5 pounds of marijuana-laced treats during a traffic crash investigation on Western Reserve Road, east of Market Street in Boardman Township in Mahoning County, on August 25.

During the crash investigation troopers detected a strong odor of marijuana on one of the drivers.

During a probable cause search of that driver’s vehicle, troopers found individually wrapped Rice Krispies-like treats with a strong odor of marijuana. Further investigation revealed that the treats were laced with a liquid form of marijuana.

Patrick Altier, 22, of Boardman, Ohio, was charged with possession of marijuana and trafficking in marijuana, both third-degree felonies. Altier was also charges with OVI.

Altier was incarcerated in the Mahoning County Jail. If convicted he could face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.
