Dazed & Confused Smoke Out

Toronto Hash Mob intend to smoke out Yonge and Dundas Square, Tuesday, July 3rd starting at 8pm. City Cinema, a screening of outdoor movies in the heart of Toronto, is premiering cannabis classic Dazed and Confused as part of their ode to subcultures. Clearly marijuana enthusiasts – who gather annually at Y&D Square Apr. 20 to protest marijuana prohibition by puffing down – are the intended market for a movie that is filled with ‘70s reefer references.

Marijuana activists Dazed and Confused is second as the most popular cannabis comedy of all time, according to website . Beat out by the one and only Cheech and Chong’s Up In Smoke. At the time of release, Dazed and Confused cinema goers were encouraged by movie marketing to “see it with a bud.” Now marijuana enthusiasts will be able to fulfill that goal on Tuesday July 3rd outdoors under the city lights at Y&D Square just after sunset (about 9pm). Dazed and Confused with its incredible cast of then upcoming actors is a fantastic coming of age movie that adds cannabis credibility to genre known as stoner flicks.

Marijuana legalization advocate argues there is a cannabis connection between officially sanctioned City Cinema showing Dazed and Confused and Toronto Hash Mob’s un-official annual Apr. 20 smoke out that thousands of tokers illegally attend. There’s no denying Dazed and Confused’s subculture is the cannabis culture, argues Mernagh, who hosts a weedy webcast on every Tuesday (4-720pm) live from bring your own bud venue, Vapor Central. Toronto Hash Mob is tickled green and have been talking about Tuesday since the City Cinema lineup announcement. Mernagh suggests their annual rally attracts a large market Yonge and Dundas Square management now appears happy to capture.
