The Importance of Washington’s Legalization Initiative I-502

My declaration in my previous blog that activists who oppose the legalization initiative on the November ballot in Washington State are acting foolishly and counter to the interests of our movement provoked a reaction, not unexpectedly. So I am writing about I-502 again.

Dateline, Wednesday May 2 - I stumbled out of bed with my 5am wake up call in my Granville st hotel room. I had come over to Vancouver from the Island two days prior to spend some extra time with fellow activists and my beautiful girlfriend Kimberly before heading to Toronto for the Global Marijuana March on May 5.

Probably everybody who is reading this blog has seen the Kony 2012 video that went viral, amassing 28 million hits in its first day. When we say "viral", we think of something spreading instantaneously over a wide swath of demographics.
