A coalition of Colorado and national drug reform groups Friday filed eight initiatives designed to amend the state constitution to legalize marijuana. It was the opening move in an effort to put the question to Colorado voters on the November 2012 ballot.

On May 24 I testified during a Rhode Island Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on S0270, the Marijuana Decriminalization bill.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) announced at a Tuesday afternoon press conference that she has instructed the state attorney general to file a federal lawsuit to seek clarification of the legality of the state's medical marijuana law. That means that the dispensary licensing portion of the program will most likely be put on hold pending a "declaratory judgment" sought by the governor.
Activism

It was just one year ago that Sen. Joshua Miller's bill to decriminalize possession of up to an ounce of marijuana got held up in committee, but the Cranston Democrat is hoping for a different result this year as his bill makes an encore appearance.
