With legal recreational marijuana business opportunities lingering over the state, South San Francisco officials are continuing to examine whether to embrace the growing industry.
With less than a year left until the government’s self-imposed deadline to legalize marijuana, efforts to figure out how legal weed will be sold in Canada are in full swing.
The cannabis industry has lit up in the last year, including weed delivery startup Eaze, which just raised $27 million in Series B financing and claims a 300 percent year-over-year increase in gross sales.
“It’s a boom town,” says entrepreneur Richard Huang, describing the legal cannabis industry, “but it’s not a gold rush, where just any fool can strike it big.”
