The number of Health Canada inspections of federally licensed cannabis facilities and licence holders increased in the 2024-2025 fiscal year, compared to previous years.
From April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, the federal regulator conducted a total of 889 inspections under the Cannabis Act and its regulations, up from 662 a year in the two previous years.
This most recent year included 197 inspections of registered personal and designated production of cannabis for medical purposes licensees, up from 160 in the previous year and 170 in the year prior.
There were also 26 inspections targeting promotional activities conducted at both licensed and non-licensed establishments over this period, in addition to ongoing compliance verification activities related to promotion prohibitions.
