CANNABIS CULTURE – Marijuana activist Marc Emery embarked on a “Farewell Tour” across Canada in the summer of 2009, before he was extradited to the United States and sentenced to five years in prison for selling pot seeds online.
Marc and his wife Jodie travelled to nearly 30 cities in eight provinces, giving speeches and meeting local residents.
In his speeches, Marc discussed the folly of the US and Canada’s War on Drugs and his struggle to fight extradition to the US after he was arrested in 2005 for seed-selling, often pointing out the DEA press release admitting his arrest was political.
Marc was also able to spend time conversing with fans, sometimes late into the evening.
“It was a great opportunity to meet our supporters all across the country before Marc was extradited,” Jodie told Cannabis Culture.
