How To Rip Your Bong Better

Do you want to hit your bong boldly? Hold THC in your lungs longer? Of course you do! I know I do. Plenty of potheads ask me, “Mernahuana how do you inhale so sexily?”

The secret to my marijuana inhaling success is is Joe Pilates.

No he isn’t some Italian pothead I met in Yongesterdam. Or a literary blog device pothead. He’s an actual dude who created Contrology. A physical fitness regime we refer to as the pilates method. Did Joe Pilates inhale? Probably not.

However his fitness regime developed in a British internment camp during WWI is fantastic way to improve your marijuana inhaling because it’s about breathing. I began personal pilates sessions after completing six months of extensive three days a week physiotherapy. Though my left shattered shoulder had improved well beyond doctor expectations, I desired to go further with fitness.

Originally I thought fitness meant less pot smoking. On the contrary. I get a great ganja groove on – then I start my stretching and movement routines. Physiotherapy taught me this. I’d get baked before physiotherapy then have my arm pulled to the point of pain. The physiotherapist at the clinic knew I was marijuana medicated and took full advantage.

I have about 90 percent mobility in my shoulder because of our efforts. With doctor predicting between 65 – 80 percent. They asked how I did it, I told them, marijuana.

Lessening my fibromyalgia or scoliosis pain could have been an ideal goal to set when I commenced pilates in January. Everyone desires less chronic pain, but not less chronic. It’s difficult to set a less pain goal because it’s hard to judge that goal.

Instead my pilates goal was simple, to rip a bong better.

Like the cannabis champion of the world I am!

It’s never the stone, but my lung capacity that hampers me from inhaling all your weed. No one wants an of out-shape cannabis champion like Dusty Rhodes. Potheads demand a five star bong hitter. I’m now fully prepared to take on all comers again without having to resort to the Dusty Finish.

Your body’s ability to take a solid deep inhale is critical to achieving a maximum marijuana high. Therefore a breathing, stretching and strengthening routine, such as pilates, will get you higher. Once you get started with a pilates routine, especially a class with fellow potheads, you and your friends will be amazed at how much more you can inhale in one breath.

    high! thanks for the great responses. i didn’t do pilates just to rip my bong better…maybe i did. but getting healthy is good for all of us. ive noticed hitting the bong better just happened to be one of the benefits. along with budbabes whistling at me 😉

    nothing better for your body and mind than stoned yoga, in my opinion.
    MJ helps with body awareness and mental focus, allowing you to stretch your body further than you ever could without it.
    That’s why the sufis and yogis were always high as shit.

    There have been studies showing O2 absorption is increased by mj and this is very beneficial during aerobic and anaerobic exercise. Plus if you engage in the painful anaerobic type of activity it is much, much, much more enjoyable. Go suffer through a 45min mountain bike climb and you will see that smoke before exercise has it’s place. Just speaking from personal experience.

    I cannot believe you are doing Pilates in order to rip-your bong better. This seems pretty silly to me. Exercising , so you can inhale more smoke? An oxymoron if there ever was one. I think it;s probably wise to keep exercise & drug-use separate.IMHO.

    Ever eaten too much weed ?

    Your body can absorb quite a bit of cannabinoids.

    Practical saturation level is when you pass out.

    I ate so much weed once I had to miss the next day at work.
    Woke up totally stoned. I was one big red eye 🙂

    Very relaxing.

    You do have a good point… There is definitely more surface area, per volume, when the container is small. But I think you may have the anatomy of the lung wrong. Though it would seem so, lungs aren’t just 2 empty bags of air. They are more correctly, a series of tubes, branching off one another as they get smaller…until they reach the alveoli, which are covered in capillaries where what ever is in your lungs enters directly into the blood. All of this is, however, contained in the pleural membrane (or bag). So, half full lung, or completely full lung there is plenty of surface area for the volume of air, due to the fact that the containers (the many alveoli) are very small.

    Here is where I get a bit tricked up, and it goes way beyond the size of your hit…. The blood can only be 100% saturated with cannabinoids(or oxygen, etc) at any given time. Once full saturation is reached, you can only absorb cannabinoids at the rate your body removes them from the blood. So, the question is, to me…Is it better to smoke until saturation is achieved, stop for a few, and repeat until desired high is achieved? I feel that I can get “higher” if I smoke a bowl, wait about 10 min, and smoke another…verses smoking 2 bowls back to back, with no break. But this could be a placebo effect. Anyone care to experiment and share the results?

    I have been smoking for about 17 years now and i’m still on the fence about the Big or Lil Bong hit. But i think i have settled on the notion that if you want a small hit, grab the pipe or the bubbler, if you want the monster rip, grab Billy Bong Thorton. Back to wasting smoke though. When i first started getting high. I had a friend named Stoney that was a fucking Mutant. This guy would take the biggest rip’s in probably stoner history. Bold statement,i know, but i never seen a bong he couldn’t clear the entire bowl in one hit on. We use to go to block parties back in the day and lay money on this Stoner Hero’s super powers and i never lost a dime in the 6 years we partied together. Not talking no powerlung bullchit either. You know where you suck as hard as you can and get most the herb falling threw before its burnt. I’m talking a nice steading roll until its all cherried and fall’s threw on its own, the way god intended a bong to be used. But here’s the Kicker folks… no smoke. That’s right you heard me. no matter how big the fucking bong hit was .. this mutants lungs absorbed all the smoke .. every time. He never blew out anything other than a lil wisp.
    Over the years i watched him start do some unreal shit. He did this thing called the trick. He would take 3-5 normal glass bowl’s. Load em as full as can be, green afro on top and all, and smoke em all one after the other in one continues breath. The moment one pulled threw, the next was getting stuck in and fired up before the smoke in the tube could clear. And yes true to his form .. only a wisp of smoke would leave his lungs when it was all over.
    Now, mutant factor aside. Just do what ever works best for you. Weather you like lil hits or big’ol lung kickers the choice is yours to make.

    I concur that large bong hits waste smoke, both when you take a really big hit and can’t hold it and start coughing horribly without giving your lungs time to absorb it; however, I have found that a large bong hit that makes me cough also greatly reduces the tinnitus, that is, the ringing in my ears. Although It varies day to day (and I think has to do with my blood pressure) I’ve found that a massive bong hit that makes me cough uncontrollably causes the ringing to go from a loud (6 on a scale of 1-10) to a subtle ‘mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh’ i’d say 1 or 2 on a scale of 1-10.

    I think the theory behind more smaller hits getting you higher than fewer larger hits is due to the fact that the smoke is only absorbed by the cells lining the walls of your lungs. When you take large hits, much of the smoke may not even come in contact with the walls of your lungs so the active ingredients can’t be absorbed easily. I think there is basically a maximum amount of smoke that anyone can absorb per hit, and going over that is just a waste. Thats the explanation that makes the most sense to me, anyway. Maybe someone can explain this further?

    If you smoke anything, odds are your lungs will be full of crap. Small hits or big ones, its all the same in that aspect. Though, using a “water pipe” will greatly lessen the crap, but ultimately, there will still be crap. If crap is what you aim to avoid, I would suggest a vaporizer.

    Smaller hits and efficiency… Not to sure about that. On one hand, smaller hits reduces the chance you will cough till you barf. But if you can handle a BIG hit, it reduces the amount of hits taken. I guess in the end, its a matter of what exactly you mean by efficiency. Ultimately, you will need a certain amount of cannabinoids to achieve a “high”. I think in the name of efficiency, better buds is what you need. The more cannabinoids you can absorb, per hit, the better (there’s where bigger hits come in). And lets face it, shwag weed only has so many cannabinoids per gram, as compared to fine hydro.

    In the end, I say smoking herb is akin to smoking a fine cigar. There are a grip of different flavors and aromas, and a grip of ways to light and smoke. It is up to you, to decide what works for you, and what you like. If you prefer smoking shwag out of a soda can, taking tiney puffs, light with a burning piece of tire, more power to you… or if you prefer a 5 foot glass monster packed with cannabis cup winning bud…well you get the point. Just find what you like and do that, but don’t be afraid to try something differnt. You never know, you might find something much more pleasing.

    =/ Aren’t smaller hits more efficient? Won’t this just leave your lungs full of crap?
