Ask Ed: Grow Tip – Winter Window Crop!

Do you have a south-facing window that light streams through all winter long? Congratulations! You have a great spot to grow some nice little potted plants!

As long as your plants get 5-6 hours of sunlight a day, or a combination of sunlight and bright indoor light, good soil, plenty of water and nutrients, they will grow beautiful buds!

To keep the plants growing vegetatively a bit before you allow them to flower, make sure to interrupt the dark cycle by turning on a light.

Then, when they get to a foot tall or so, give them light only during the day. Keep them totally dark at night without interrupting the dark cycle.

To ensure uninterrupted darkness, you can move them into a closet at night. When the plants start flowering, you will have to sex them and remove the males. 6-8 weeks later you will have some nice buds.

Also, the holidays are right around the corner. Starter plants make great holiday gifts!!
