A controversial artist illustrates beautifully the ugliness of the War on Drugs.
Ricardo Cortes, creator of It’s Just a Plant, a children’s book about marijuana, paints a disturbing picture (eight pictures, actually) of the disastrous and lethal polices of a of a century’s worth of shit-headed, drug-warmongering politicians in a piece for Vanity Fair called “Sketches of the Drug Czars“.

Nixon once told his drug-policy adviser, Dr. Robert DuPont, “You’re the drug expert, not me, on every issue but one, and that’s decriminalization of marijuana. If you make any hint of supporting [it], you are history.”
I’ve always admired artists who are able to show the strange beauty of the repulsive side of America – Ralph Steadman and R. Crumb are two of my favorites.
