Police Officer John Beauford, of Balcones Heights, Texas, was charged on March 7 with possession of cocaine, crack and stolen firearms. Beauford is a a former drug task force supervisor, and was charged by a federal grand jury.
The most severe charge, possession with the intent to distribute more than 5 grams of crack, carries a minimum penalty of five years.
Beauford’s coworkers on the Alamo Area Narcotics Task Force searched his hotel room in February, allegedly finding 185 grams of cocaine.
