CANNABIS CULTURE - Toronto’s Old City Hall is a gorgeous Romanesque building that was built in 1899 and continues to serve one of its original purposes, as a courthouse. By European standards it’s not that old of a building, but by Toronto standards it’s ancient.

Toronto Global Marijuana March Protesters March At Their Pace

CANNABIS CULTURE - The protesting started early this year for the Toronto edition of Global Marijuana March. Activist vendors set-up tables and tents sans permits throughout Queens Park. They were hawking a plethora of weedy wares, hemp seeds, BHO Candy and t-shirts - with many taking it upon themselves to distribute free water! Local superhero Bongman provided cookies n milk.

Seeds, Raids, and the Beginning of the BC Marijuana Party

2001 was the biggest year for sales of Marc Emery Direct Seeds. It sure needed to be! All the profits that year (as was the case every year), $700,000, were directed to non-profit projects in the US, Canada, and around the world. The two most demanding on money were Pot TV, which needed $270,000 for just 2001 alone with no revenue stream at all, and the British Columbia Marijuana Party provincial election campaign of March to May 2001.

Hemp BC, our original retail store that opened on July 2nd, 1994 at 324 West Hastings Street in Vancouver, launched the first cannabis website in the world on September 30th, 1994. The World Wide Web had gone live in August of 1994, and now web sites could actually be created and put "online". In fact, our launch party for Hemp BC was shared at a location where our Hemp BC site was 'launched' in tandem with CBC.ca, Canada's largest national TV and Radio network.
