Busted for breadcrumbs

James McClain was arrested in Illinois on February 14 for possession of a white powder in a baggie. He spent 18 days in jail and eventually plead guilty, even though the baggie contained only breadcrumbs.
McClain couldn’t afford a lawyer and was unable to make bail. He had hoped that pleading guilty would quickly resolve the situation and help him keep his job. Police lab results, delivered moments before sentencing, cleared McClain.
