The organizer of an annual marijuana protest in downtown Vancouver is blaming the city for an outbreak of violence that led to several protesters being arrested on Canada Day.
July 1 is not just Canada Day, it’s also Cannabis Day in downtown Vancouver and it started off with a confrontation between police, city workers and marijuana protesters.
As the city of Vancouver voted in favour of regulating medical marijuana dispensaries today (June 24), a protest over marijuana reform will go ahead as planned next week, despite best efforts by the city to shut it down.
CANNABIS CULTURE - Cannabis Day will return to the Vancouver Art Gallery grounds again this year despite construction and warnings from City officials that marijuana vendor booths will be dealt with by the police.
CANNABIS DAY - The organizers of Cannabis Day need your help. Become a volunteer!
Running Canada's largest Cannabis Day event and open-to-all Marijuana Farmers Market takes a lot of work, but it is also a lot of fun. Join our volunteer army and help make Cannabis Day happen!
Cannabis Day has grown so much in size that we need as many volunteers as we can gather to help with vendor booth placement, stage setup and coordination, security, first-aid and grounds management.
