To Serve And Protect People From Cupcakes: Alberta Cops vs Bake Sale

Mounties in northern Alberta took possession of a batch of frosted cupcakes from a bake sale earlier this year after allegations they were laced with cannabis.

It happened on April 17 at the Athabasca Delta Community School in Fort Chipewyan, about 730 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.

Police say staff removed the cupcakes from the bake sale after the complaint and turned them over to police.

On Saturday, the tests on the cupcakes came back.

“The cupcakes were found to contain no substances related to cannabis,” RCMP said in a Tuesday news release.

“No children or staff were harmed as a result of the cupcakes.”
