NBA Will Continue Practice Of Not Randomly Testing Players For Cannabis

When could the rule change become permanent?

For the third time in 15 months, the National Basketball Association has announced it will not randomly test players for cannabis.

When 22 of the league’s 30 teams arrived in Florida last July to resume play in the Disney bubble, the league announced it had come to an agreement with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) and would cease testing players for recreational drugs, including cannabis. Five months later, in Dec. 2020., the NBA announced it would continue that practice for the 2020-21 season.
