Education is key as the public gets ready for the legalization of marijuana on Oct. 17, say the members of a panel at a forum held this week in Brantford.
“We need to stop being afraid to talk about this,” said Kathryn Kissinger, a human resources specialist and one of the panel speakers at the forum held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 90, on Oak Street. “We need to get the right information to the right people.”
Hosted by the Brantford-Brant Women’s Liberal Club, the non-partisan event attracted about 60 people who were encouraged to ask questions of the panelists, which also included Jodie Emery, a cannabis activist, civil liberties advocate and public speaker, and Jennifer Maccarone, the chief quality officer at Up Cannabis Inc., a licenced producer in the city.
