Kentucky Officials Again Approach DEA on Hemp Issue

Persistent Kentucky officials have again approached the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration about growing industrial hemp in the state.

This time they’ve sent a letter to the DEA asking the agency to clarify its position on industrial hemp.

Agriculture Commissioner James Comer, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul and U.S. Reps. John Yarmuth and Thomas Massie want the DEA to specifically address whether growing hemp remains illegal in states like Kentucky that have enacted a framework for licensing and regulating the crop.
