The Michelle Rainey Memorial Bench Warming

CANNABIS CULTURE – Friends of Canadian medical marijuana activist Michelle Rainey celebrated her life and work, and dedicated a beautiful memorial bench in her honor at Kanaka Creek in Maple Ridge, BC on Saturday.

The word-plate on the bench reads:

Michelle Rainey
1971 2010
Love and Big Booby Hugs

Jef Tek, Michelle’s husband before she passed due to cancer in October of 2010, told the small crowd about her years of unwearied activism and energetic personality, and buried some of her ashes below the memorial bench. Mourners drank cannabis-infused chai tea and sparked joints at 4:20, before inscribing messages to Michelle on white balloons then releasing them into the sky in her memory.
