These photos were taken by Peter Schramm in September 2006 during shooting forDaryl Verville’s film “The Naked Queen”. The movie was shot in Nelson, BC with beautiful backdrops of the Kootenay Mountains, and illuminates the relationship of cannabis to the mythological past and the collective unconscious. The main character contemplates his dreams and conversations with Mahatma Gandhi, Carl Jung, and Beethoven, all of whom struggled against some sort of tyranny to inspire people with hope and spiritual strength. Marc Emery and other marijuana experts make appearances throughout the film to speak about the unnatural prohibition of a natural plant.
