Qu?bec Criminal Court, 20 November 2002
During a visit to an inmate at a penitentiary, Jean-Pierre Beauchemin, 56, delivered 13.6 grams of marijuana. Beauchemin pleaded guilty to trafficking. Beauchemin had no criminal record and was described as having a “spotless reputation.”
The Court agreed with the Crown that the fact that this took place in a prison called for a sentence of incarceration, as opposed to a conditional sentence. Beauchemin got six month’s imprisonment.
