A Dutch pot buyers’ club goes to court May 19 to appeal a decision from last November, where the club president was fined for possession of cannabis. The charges stemmed from a raid last year, where Dutch police seized 327 grams of bud.
A statement from H. Bommel, club president, explained that they buy their pot “in a cooperative way” and test it for pesticides before distributing it to members. The non-profit club caims over 3500 members.
Bommel complained “authorities are allowing local criminals to take over commercial coffeeshops which sell cheap, health endangering grass at the highest possible price. Our club stands up to this.”
