Mike Ethier of Tarzan’s Hemp in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, faces continued persecution. Raided in January of this year and then evicted last April from his old location (see CC#18, Cops cut Tarzan’s vine), he now faces the threat of eviction from his new location, after only 6 days of residency.
Meanwhile,on the first day of Ethier’s July 1 Cannabis Festival, there were more police in attendance than cannabis enthusiasts.
“We were rained out the first day, and had 14 people show up,” writes Ethier. “Two of those people were narcs that we saw at the first raid in January. We also saw sixteen cruisers driving around. The attendance increased the second day, and was still bigger the next.”
The crown has offered to drop all charges against Mike Ethier’s brother, Luke, in connection with the January raid, in return for a $100 donation. Luke Ethier refused the offer.
