CANNABIS CULTURE - The Prince of Pot Marc Emery is taking a final tour across Canada before he is sent to prison in the United States for selling marijuana seeds online. Go to www.NoExtradition.net or read Marc's latest blog about his fight against extradition and his chances of going to prison in the USA.
Marc and Jodie will be embarking on a tour of Canada beginning July 5 in Calgary, and will cover all major cities in Canada by mid August. If you want Marc and Jodie to visit your hometown to speak, he requires $500 for airfare and a hotel room. Once that is done, we will indicate that city and venue are confirmed.
Once confirmed, the host would need to find a venue to speak at. Marc would prefer to speak outdoors in a park or pavilion during the day, or in a library or hall in the evenings (no pubs or bars), and with a microphone for more than 50 people. His speech is typically 2 to 3 hours plus questions.

Emery had a profitable business going and much of that profit was going to political support for the Marijuana Party, which has always aimed towards decrim and legalization of Cannabis.
After the DEA busted him, they took almost all the profits he made from those 'illegal' seeds (what they could find), put him out of business, and forced him into a catch-22 where he had to use most of all the money he had left to pay for lawyers just to stay out of prison.
And where did that get him? The Marijuana Party lost millions, along with the 90s upswing of support, the DEA has commandeered the RCMP and most of the govt, and Emery still has to go to prison for mainly shrewd, Machiavellian olitical reasons.
Well, I'm hoping the guys on the inside go easy on him and maybe he'll gain more support there. Prison totally sucks.

In other words, we provide police with tremendous resources in exchange for a sense of darkfall gold, but they turn it around and use their ill-gained advantages to create even more fear in order to increase their budgets.
Marc is offering an opportunity, not asking for money. I suggest you smoke some cannabis to enhance your ability to comprehend basic logic, Anonymous DoucheBag.

Dude, asking for a room and a ride is not very much. If you think a legal battle with the USA comes cheap then you are misinformed. Methinks you just don't like him and underestimate the reasoning powers of smokers. Marc fights to get pot legalized which would bring huge corporations into the cannabis industry. When they arrive small-businessmen like Marc often end up getting crushed early on and end up going out of business. Knowing this Marc presses for legalization anyway. So what if he made a middle-class living along the way...

Because when you keep money and you get busted, the bad guys take it all away! That's why Marc didn't keep money, or save, invest, buy anything... His apartment and car were leased, and he lost them when the raid happened. He didn't have anything to be seized when the raid happened; there was $11 in the bank account, no property, no valuables, no cars, nothing. That was the idea, though. Make money to spend money on ending the drug war.
Even now, every day is the same; we make as much money as possible to cover all the bills and employees, then we're broke at the end of the day. It's like most businesses -- except when there was profit being made from seed sales (those were the money-making days), that money went to the movement, to political parties, court cases, medical marijuana clubs, rallies and protests, etc.
That's why he didn't save anything.

i totally agree with jodie!! when i was with marc..he never saved anything...i begged him to of course..like any woman might do..but he ALWAYS put the money back into the buisness...he helped other people to a fault..he gave tons of money to people in need for this or that. he is always extreemly generous. he did not save because he believes in what he does....he is a special person who doesnt think like the rest of us..and that is what makes him great!!
i will always cherish the memories i have of watching him work and the time i got to have with him. jodie is a special girl and i am happy he has her...people out ther just do not understand how different marc truly is...there is only ONE marc emery..and i DO NOT think asking for some help after ALL THE THINGS HE HAS DONE FOR OTHERS AND THE MOVEMENT FOR YOU is asking too much...

Hey Jodi
Don't worry about stupid people. I have found that trying to help stupid people think is a lost cause. It seems very clear and obvious to anyone with half a brain. I truly admire Marc and his efforts to replace prohibition. The fact is that prohibition employs huge amounts of people in the various sectors that are employed to first arrest, sentence and jail individuals. Not to mention policing, both federal, state and international. When you understand the dynamics, it makes you sick. Marc has integrity and i will be there to hear him in my home town this summer. You go Marc.

Hey, Maybe your forgetting about all of the FINES that the government slaps on him during raids, and how much money is spent on promoting his store, magazine, website and many other things. Court Costs, lawyer fees, the list goes on and on!
And he isn't ASKING for it, it's an offer.
Listen, maybe you shuld think about everything that he's trying to do for marijuana legalization.
You should ask what YOU yourself are doing for the movement, NOT critisizing him for all the GOOD he's trying to do.
It's one thing for someone who wants prohibition and hates an activist like Emery to criticize his appeal for a modest donation. It is another for a person to claim he supports Emery and then ask a question that has already been answered countless times.
If you are literate and have ever visited Cannabis Culture website, or read anything about Marc Emery and the situation he is in, you should already know why Marc does not have the ability to do this tour on his own dime.
You are absurd.

Your a retard Anonymous. Marc Emery is role model for anyone who believes in a cause that promotes freedom that people like you take for granted. Its not just about pot, its about fundamental freedoms.
Dont worry Marc, your efforts keeps our hope alive to have a more just and free society. The old right wing closed minded mentality will die off with the older generation and the younger will hopefully vote for politiciens that promote legalization. Your work has helped convinced many and your actions and sacrafice are honerable. Your very courageous and hope to see you realize this dream one day.
I just ordered your DVD. Hope to see you on Parlement Hill July 19th.
Why would you go to Seattle to be busted by Yanks, fuck them, the fucking American government is why cannabis is not legal in Canada today, if it were not for the hardline stance of the Americans, Canadians would be buying pot at their local store. Why the hell would you qualify their legal system by submitting to it. No real man submits to tyrants, a real man runs for his freedom until he's given no choice but to shoot the bastard that threatens it. Marc, if you go to the states and submit to their authority you're either soft or stupid, no sorrys here just straight talk to someone who, obviously, hasn't gotten any. If you believe that freedom is precious and that the American justice system is wrong on this issue then you owe it to us, those that you have preached to,to fight and run and do whatever it takes to keep doing what you do because that is what inspires us. Your martyrdom will not inspire us to cry loudly against the encroaching darkness, instead it will show us that our most powerful and well-known proponents are as vulnerable as we. What good is it to be you then?

this is all about politics and the U.S. gov't have admitted that in writing. The amount of drug war violence will still rise, and spread like fire. Today is indeed a breaking-point, as drug warfare continues, (by cartels or gangs or law Enforcment) no community is safe. drive-by shootings, gang slayings, kill many innocent people. more extreme mesures seen in mexico, has started to spread north, with the violence becoming more random, and kid-nappings are becoming common place. As news reports of cartel members out-gunning police and army, the situation becomes critical. If the only thing to be done is more enforcement, you will inturn have heavier violence. Cartel leaders have instructed the "crew" to use any and all force nesessary to achieve delivery, that includes any law enforcement intervention. Soon road side bombs, RPG attacks and other esculating violence will be common, not just in Mexico. The border can't stop them, they can't even stop people crossing for work. Where is the CHANGE we need.

No doubt this is about politics. Personally, I think it's insane to just hand your self over to a government bent on your demise.
There's all sorts of that going on in the world and when we hear of some leader in exile, the Dalai Llama come to mind, we have no problem knowing that they are avoiding persecution. We empathize.
So, I would suggest that the Prince go into exile and take the first flight out of the country when he ends his tour.
Westerners, especially Americans, just don't follow the martyr thing anyway, not as long as they are comfortable that is.
While Nelson Mandela might have inpsired millions during his incarcertaion, South Africa is a very different place and the minorities were actually the MAJORITY.
If Mark goes to jail in the the good old US-of-A, sure, he can write, inspire, and people will protest. But nothing will change. He is virtually guaranteed to never see the light of day again and for no good reason.
Even if a several thousand people surounded the prison he was kept in, however unlikely, they still would not let him out. Instead, they would call the National Guard to disperse the crowd. If there was a riot they would still not let him out.
Even if the laws changed they still would not let him out because he it would not negate him having broke the law.
OK, so maybe after 20 years of appeals and the law changing, enough people in power will have moved on and the current lot could allow him parole or something. Still, that's a life time in the industrial prison complex. F*ck that man!
Marc, if you read this: get off the "high" horse and high-tail it to parts unknown. Be the Prince in Exile!

Come on man the system is changing quicker than we could even imagine! In 20 years we will be living in very different paradigm. Freedom based on knowledge and common peace.
Believe that we will be in a world of peace, love and freedom of choice. No one can stop the movements going on all over the world that are asking for change.
Lets lead ourselves into this beautiful reality!

/// There's all sorts of that going on in the world and when we hear of some leader in exile, the Dalai Llama come to mind, we have no problem knowing that they are avoiding persecution. ///
The Dali lama fled Tibet in 1959- and has been ineffective ever since not because he was a political figure, but because he was a religious leader playing politics. he took on a huge foe without rational resources to fight
Mark Emery is pulling the same deal sort of, a merchant capitalist who tried to play political leader ( but nobody voted for him ) and part time pagan weed religious leader, only his anarchist merchant side sort of overtook his spiritual work...that pot seed selling to the devotees thing-- oh ya that !
So now he can write that book from jail like Hitlet did- awaiting till he gets released so he can play out his manic disapproval on everybody who didn't agree with him..and thats most people..

"Northern Ontario" is a large place. Need a little more clarification on who will be specifically sponsoring him (Cities). If North Bay isn't on the list, we will have to accommodate arrangements (funding) to make it a possibility.
To anybody questioning the sponsoring please remember Marc might be (is) going to jail for quite some time, if I was him I would do my best to save every penny as a means for future legal and political battles to come. Marc has done so much for the movement and is going to sacrifice years off of his life for his (our) cause.
Lets all show him a good time before our country throws away any sovereignty it may have had and extradites a Canadian citizen over political views.
Sad day for Canada indeed.

I skipped classes to hear your talk at Laurentian University, when you were last here, and look forwark to your next visit to Sudbury.
You made a reference in your Laurentian speech to the rascist attitude of a certain Nelly McClung, to pot-smoking, jazz-playing "negroes" whose favourite passtime was seducing young white women. As it turns out, it was a faact, not an allegation, and it opened an avenue of research for me which relates to a topic which I may use as a basis for an MA.(Won't bore you with the details.)
While your speech was ostensibly on marijuana, there were many other issues that went with it, and that is analagous to the situation which you are facing today. Your predicament isn't just about legalizing pot, there is also the matter of Canadian soveriegnty, the hypocrisy of our laws, and most importantly, of our politicians.
That, of course leads us back to the absurdity at the root of the matter, our outdated marijuana laws.
I look forward to hearing your next speech in Sudbury, and hope you can make it here without incident.

Marc, if you go to the US, they will lock you up man. I do not believe you will leave the prison alive while there is war on drug going on. Isn't there a place in this civilized f*cking world that u can go and *continue* to spread the message like the Dalai Lama continues to do?
Imagine if he returns to China, he would be silenced. He is more annoying staying free.

Glad to hear Marc is coming out to visit. I'm hoping that people in Thunder Bay will get together to support him and his cause. I've met Marc in Toronto a few times, and he is a fountain of information. I'll do my best to rally the local potheads together and maby get a few sponsors to help w/ the costs involved. If there is anything I can do to help, just say the word. Hopin to see ya soon! Peace, Chi.

Not bad for a former porn salesman from London, Ontario. The sheer self-aggrandizing nature of someone accepting the term Prince of Pot is stunning. Marc Emery is one big act with nothing beneath of any worth. The rigid, rictus-like fake smile, the tense body language, and reliance on brain-dead stock phrases and expressions indicate someone who doesn't want to be approached for what he really is. With his recent raving and whining, specifically against the motorcycle fanatics right across from his offices, and stating that crackheads are worse with police resources properly directed against them, is foolish and vain. Talk on the street (including very near his own shops on West Hastings) says that he's an idiot who may not live very long inside the American penal system. They don't care about some stupid Prince. Associates of the boys across the road have already stated that they know several people already incarcerated within the institution that Emery is likely to be stuck in, and that it would be easy to have him designated as the victim of a fatal prison hit, with one phone call. Even many straight, normal businesses in the immediate area want him, the New Amsterdam Cafe, and the violent and greedy HA schwag-weed dealers out of the area entirely. This is the result of government-sponsored madness, and with a few changes to our Criminal Code while ignoring the power-mad rulers to the south of us, would result in vampire scum like him finding something else to do. In the meantime, he waltzes on very thin ice. He has brought disrepute to the cannabis legalization efforts elsewhere in this country. The only reason he has put everything in Jodie's name is that he doesn't want the government to get anything from asset seizure. He used to sell weed out of his store, back in the days of the Crosstown Traffic Cafe, and for some time afterwards. It's an open secret in the area, and if he thinks the cops don't know, it's yet more sad proof of his idiocy. One day, Jodie may wake up and decide to take off on her own, with a bit of money to help her out. Both Marc's and Jodie's attempts at politics are ludicrous, and betray their own power-and-status grubbing natures. Look how he demands and expects others to continue his "good fight" for him. What an arrogant empty snob. Good luck, Marc: you're gonna need it.

Marc was not a porn salesman. He was a bookstore owner, and sold many books, fighting against censorship of any and all literature. His first battle was to end the censorship/banning of marijuana literature, and the censorship of pornography as well. That's nothing to be ashamed of; he wants information to be free, as it should be. And he won that battle.
As for this strange "Crosstown Traffic Cafe" you mention, that was not Marc's and never was associated with him in any way whatsoever beyond being in the same area as his store. Marc never sold weed, ever -- that would be ultimately stupid. He only sold seeds, while others who simply wanted to make money were shilling marijuana bud.
On top of that, nothing is in my name and there's no assets to seize. Our store is leased, our apartment rented, we have no vehicle and nothing in our names. He simply has debt from running businesses, like every other business out there, so there's nothing to take.
Additionally, I don't think our attempts at politics are ridiculous. For example, I did very well getting my message out and receiving media attention as a BC Green Party candidate in the May election. I wonder, why are you so hateful and slanderous, and who are you anyway? What's your personal beef with Marc Emery? You dislike that the media -- CNN in 1997 originally, and everyone else since -- call him the Prince of Pot? Do you begrudge his success in making money and spending it all on a good cause? Own up or get lost; if Marc is a waste of time, then you're certainly better off spending yours elsewhere.

w00t! Go Jodie!
Anyone who truly believes marijuana is not a dangerous or dirty drug that has done wonders for countless people throughout time should be happy and grateful for any and every one advocating for our basic FREEDOM like Mark and Jodie have. Seriously. And if you're not here to support it, hit the road! You're outnumbered here.
Jodie if you ever run in Alberta you have my vote. :)

the broke ass prince of pot :)
no hate marc, love your hactivism
but man, you over did it with the prince of pot
hmmmm... think about it
Emery had a profitable business going and much of that profit was going to political support for the Marijuana Party, which has always aimed towards decrim and legalization of Cannabis.
In other words, we provide
In other words, we provide police with tremendous resources in exchange for a sense of darkfall gold, but they turn it around and use their ill-gained advantages to create even more fear in order to increase their budgets.
He is offering, not asking
Marc is offering an opportunity, not asking for money. I suggest you smoke some cannabis to enhance your ability to comprehend basic logic, Anonymous DoucheBag.

pl...eeeeeeeease...
"Why didn't he save anything"?
WHY DIDN'T HE SAVE?
i totally agree with jodie!! when i was with marc..he never saved anything...i begged him to of course..like any woman might do..but he ALWAYS put the money back into the buisness...he helped other people to a fault..he gave tons of money to people in need for this or that. he is always extreemly generous. he did not save because he believes in what he does....he is a special person who doesnt think like the rest of us..and that is what makes him great!!
i will always cherish the memories i have of watching him work and the time i got to have with him. jodie is a special girl and i am happy he has her...people out ther just do not understand how different marc truly is...there is only ONE marc emery..and i DO NOT think asking for some help after ALL THE THINGS HE HAS DONE FOR OTHERS AND THE MOVEMENT FOR YOU is asking too much...

Hey, Maybe your forgetting
Hey, Maybe your forgetting about all of the FINES that the government slaps on him during raids, and how much money is spent on promoting his store, magazine, website and many other things. Court Costs, lawyer fees, the list goes on and on!
And he isn't ASKING for it, it's an offer.
Listen, maybe you shuld think about everything that he's trying to do for marijuana legalization.
You should ask what YOU yourself are doing for the movement, NOT critisizing him for all the GOOD he's trying to do.
Anonym-ass It's one thing
Anonym-ass
It's one thing for someone who wants prohibition and hates an activist like Emery to criticize his appeal for a modest donation. It is another for a person to claim he supports Emery and then ask a question that has already been answered countless times.
If you are literate and have ever visited Cannabis Culture website, or read anything about Marc Emery and the situation he is in, you should already know why Marc does not have the ability to do this tour on his own dime.
You are absurd.
I'd pay ten bucks to see him talk
I'd pay ten bucks to see him talk to me and a group of 50. Unfortunately I'm in the US, and don't think he'll be heading this way till the tour is over.

Seattle sucks

Where is the CHANGE we need.
should be Farewell to North America!
Pessimist
I hope thats not your legalization speech!!!
Dali Lama? You gots to be kidding

North Bay?
Toronto!!!!!
Marc iam going to tr and raise some money for this to happen, if so i will be in toronto suppoting you all the way, No one is gooing to hold me back for something like this!!
Canadian government too weak to take care of one of its own
How embarrassing for the Canadian government to allow the US government to smack them around and jail one of Canadians Champions of freedom and liberty. Take care of yourself Marc and thanks for always standing up for what you believe and for helping the entire world see the United States DEA for what they really are, just another bunch of goose stepping nazi's against freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

A Return to Sudbury
Dalai Lama approach
Hi, I live in Portugal, I don't use pot but I have a friend of my father that has cancer. And I will try to convince him to go to Holland and experiment pot (for nausea) and get sufficient to make Rick Simpson's hemp oil (doesn't hurt to try).
U have my support,
José M

Marc is the man...
There is no amount of money that could replace the time and effort that Mr & Mrs Emery have dedicated to a cause that benefits millions of people around the world. I consider myself very lucky to know such a selfless person and i wish more people realized the global impact Marc and Jodie have made
He did it to himself...
You're so wrong
