Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana Grower's Handbook 2010

CANNABIS CULTURE - I recently received the newly-revised version of Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana Growers Handbook and was so impressed with the vast amount of information it contains, I wanted to give Cannabis Culture readers a brief overview.

I am very happy to admit that I work with Ed and am a contributor to this book, but I must say honestly that Ed has seriously outdone himself this time.

I asked Ed last year what his goal was, and he explained that the original version of the book was written so long ago that technology had far surpassed the original information. He wanted to update the book, incorporating all the latest technology - both product and method.

Let's face it, Ed has inspired a huge number of people to grow their own and in doing so he advanced what we know about cannabis gardening by experimentation alone. Now Ed has absorbed all this info and laid it out in a usable form with more pictures than I expected. I am working on my own grow book and have some idea what it takes. Let me tell you, Ed left nothing out of this book. As a reference book I will recommend no other from this point forward!

In Ed's introduction he warns us " WARNING: Although using marijuana may not be addicting, growing it is." Damn right Ed, I couldn't agree more.

Though I haven't read every single word and tried each method, as one reads through the pages of Marijuana Growers Handbook it gives the impression that it is a text book, just like you would learn from in school, with stunning pictures and easy-to-read sections. Indeed, across the cover it reads: "Official course book - Oaksterdam University".

It covers harvest, curing, hash-making, indoor, outdoor, and everything in between, especially new equipment. The latest current info appears to have been gathered and used to complete this guide.

A section on Landrace, a section on current varieties, the life cycle, sexing plants, light spectrums, nutrient deficiencies, equipment LED lights, trimming machines - on and on it goes; every page packed with information and pictures.

The book goes into detail about cannabis terpines and their interactions with the human brain. Many charts and graphs are provided that I had never seen before. I am very impressed with the detail of this new information. Ed covers the three types of cannabis in such detail that I can't wait to finish this review and actually read this book from front to back.

Other highlights include the dedication to the Late, Great Jack Herer, a forward by Tommy Chong, and a preface by NORML founder Keith Stroup - so you know you have a serious grow book in your hands from the get-go.

I am blown away that Ed chose one of my favorite creations to illustrate the first page of "Part 1: Marijuana The Plant" and Space Bomb adorns a full page even before page one. But again, I am not saying this because Ed's my editor - you guys know I say what I mean and have held Ed to task before - but he has done a spectacular job. I hope that no one takes this for granted and that everyone actually grabs a copy and uses it like we all did in the old days when it was the only information we had. THIS IS NOT THE SAME BOOK.

Well done Ed!

Looks like one tome to add to my library,

right next to Jack Herer's "The Emperor Wears No Clothes".

Thanks for the tip ...

but I have no intention of muling some beans over the USA||Canada border. Nor would I want to put anyone else in a similar legal position to that of Marc Emery. Marc's arrest and extradition to the USA was nothing less than an extra-legal political vendetta -- if I were a Canadian I would be extremely upset with the Harper government and every political party there that went along with this bullshit. As an American, I am totally fed up with both main political parties and the bullshit Obama administration.

Go Green Party !!
