CANNABIS CULTURE – The Lift Cannabis Forum – an expo and speakers panel on the future of marijuana regulation – returns to Vancouver for a third and final instalment of the year.
The Forum takes place tonight from 4:30pm – 9:30pm at UBC Robson Square (800 Robson St.) in Vancouver. Buy tickets now.
The event will “feature a lively panel discussion on the future of cannabis access and regulation in Canada, from dispensaries to LP’s to patients, the emerging international market, and beyond,” according to the Forum website. “The outcome of the federal election will give us a lot to talk about as well.”
Past Forum discussion have focused on medical marijuana regulations and research but in “the wake of the recent election,” organizers say, “we are very excited to expand the conversation outwards to look at what a federally-regulated ‘adult/recreational’ system can look like, and how it relates to current examples in the US and around the world.”
Forum panelists include Dr. Dave Hepburn, cohost of the Oprah Winfrey Network show Buyologic and national radio show Wisequacks; Rielle Capler, long-time Canadian marijuana activist and co-founder of the Canadian Association of Medical Cannabis Dispensaries; Andrew Livingston, policy analyst for Vicente Sederberg LLC and founder of a chapter of Students For Sensible Drug Policy; Theresa Kozak, social worker and manager of Better by Tweed; and Chris Stone, QA Manager at Broken Coast Cannabis.
The event will be moderated by Hilary Black, founder of the BC Compassion Club and Director of Patient and Community Services at Bedrocan.
