Jimmy Kimmel To Obama: “What’s With The Marijuana Crackdown Mr President?”

While delivering his remarks at the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, comedian Jimmy Kimmel addressed the issue of marijuana legalization.

“What is with the marijuana crackdown? Seriously, what is the concern? We will deplete the nation’s Funyun supply?” Kimmel said. “Pot smokers vote too. Sometimes a week after the election, but they vote.”

Kimmel then posed a challenge to the crowd, which was made up of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and George Clooney.

“I would like everyone in this room to raise your hand if you’ve never smoked pot,” Kimmel said.

Few hands went up.

Noting the crowd’s reaction, Kimmel addressed President Barack Obama directly.

“Marijuana is something that real people care about,” Kimmel said.

What it boils down to is when will the police stop clubbing pot smokers once and for all ? While the rich are having fun it is the poors lives that get disrupted by the police of the rich.

    Thanks, Jimmy!

Unfortunately, it remains to be seen if this intervention and the intervention by Barney Frank will lead to Obama’s administration actually stopping the raids, calling off the IRS hounds, and having a policy or memorandum of understanding to allow uninhibited banking by medical marijuana entities.

I’m hoping Obama is crazy like a fox, and is timing things right so that the dominoes fall into place: mid to late summer U.S. goes to war against Syrian regime because masses tend not to want to change commanders in chief while a military combat campaign is going on; Obama is re-elected, and gets more Dems in Congress and thus has more support, then goes ahead with legalization.

If I were the USA President, I would try my best to entice Jimmy Kimmel to take a pay cut and come to work for me as my Press Secretary.

Your comment makes little sense. Do explain.

In other news, I do think this is a good example of the legalization debate being over, intellectually, at least, as Marc commented recently.

Look, let me be very clear.

If marijuana were a fraction as harmful and dangerous as we’ve said it is, we’d legalize it yesterday.
