AIRY BUD
My plants are about 3 feet tall and have immaculate looking buds on them, but I have been unable to get large and dense buds even though all the hairs and stigmas are completely red when harvested. My 4?x8? system is lit by two 1000w HPS lamps on tracks. The room stays in the mid-70?s.

Bad timer, two weeks to go

The timer on my light toasted and the light was on continuously for three days. Before the light accident the plants had only two weeks of flowering until ripening. Should I harvest immediately or continue to flower them out?

The accident has set the plants back a week or ten days but it has not ruined the buds. It may have given them a little stretch.

Not satisfied from yield of six plants

I am a patient with a medical card in Colorado. I use about an ounce of marijuana a week to ease the pain of my spinal cord injury. I am allowed to grow six plants but my yield per plant is only about an ounce so I can supply myself with only a fraction of my need. How can I grow enough marijuana to meet my needs?

Uses halogen lights

I recently had extremely good success growing Hawaiian/Cotton Candy under two 500-watt halogen lamps. The yield was 100 grams and the quality was excellent. The lights are much less expensive than HPS lamps. What is the difference between the two?

I say this mainly because the rooms I find myself in these days are much larger than your standard closet or basement set up. Could I use a 12-inch bundle of fiber optic cable to carry sunlight concentrated using a lens and illuminate a garden with it? The initial cost might be high but there would be a terrific savings on energy costs.

What would happen if I gave my plants a 27 or 30-hour day instead of 24? I would use a seven-day timer to turn the lights on for 15 to 18 hours and then give the plants a 12-hour dark period. Would this lighting make the plant grow faster or have a larger harvest?

Last year I planted some clones taken from my friend's large outdoor plants. I placed them in a part of the garden that gets unobstructed sun all spring and summer and they experienced explosive growth. Midway through autumn, as the sun's position changed, its light was blocked by a tree and the plants were in shade most of the day.

Getting off the grid

Electricity is so expensive and electric bills are scrutinized so much by various law agencies that I want to get off the grid. How can I run a grow system independent of electricity grids? Solar panels sound like the best solution in sunny locations. How do you set up an appropriate solar electric system to run an efficient grow system?

Flowering an indoor-outdoor plant

I germinated a seed I found while cleaning. The plant is three months old, about a foot high (I pinched/dwarfed it) and bushy. It smells like very strong skunk. Each morning I set it outside and I bring it in each night. I didn't think the plant would get this far, but now I want to finish the job. The plant isn't flowering. What do I do to make it flower?

Plants sunburned

I have these two plants. They were doing well until today. I had them in a very bright indoor patio where they got direct sun all day long. Today was a warm day so I put them outside. Light regimen irregularity

I have a 430-watt HPS covering an area of about two by three feet. 15 beautiful little ladies sit under the light. I have thrown three of them into flowering by keeping the light on 24 hours and removing the three plants 12 hours a day, allowing the others to continue growing vegetatively.

I have some clones that have been under fluorescent lighting in a Phototron. I recently placed the clones under a 430-watt HPS lamp.
The plants look very healthy, but they are leaning away from the light. What gives?

The color white

I am converting a closet into a garden and I am debating using mirrors or white reflective material for the walls. Another idea I have is to use mirrors on the top and bottom and white material for the sides. Is either one of these options better than the other? Also if the white material is to be used, what is it called and where can I get it?

Too much light

I've got two 1,000-watt HIDs in an area of 24 square feet. Is 290,000 lumens in 186 cubic feet (or 83 watts per square foot) too much light? Is there such thing as too much light? Is this safe for the plants?
