It is very rare that I come across a new strain that truly blows me away, which is what happened instantly the first time I tried one of DJ Short?s new strains, Old Time Moonshine. It?s a true Hashplant selected for its production of large, clear gland heads (as seen in the microscopic photo).

AIRY BUD
My plants are about 3 feet tall and have immaculate looking buds on them, but I have been unable to get large and dense buds even though all the hairs and stigmas are completely red when harvested. My 4?x8? system is lit by two 1000w HPS lamps on tracks. The room stays in the mid-70?s.

Many marijuana varieties, including most sativa-indica hybrids, can be regenerated quite a few times. Anecdotally, one person grew a large plant in the southfacing window of his apartment building and harvested the plant in the late fall.

Resprouting buds

Just before we were about to harvest our crop of Super Skunk x Big Bud, the buds started sprouting these individual buds, mostly from the top. Within a matter of days, what were once nice tight hard buds were all open and leafy. The whole crop was ruined. What happened?

Hermaphrodite seeds

I am growing from seeds, not clones. In the middle of my garden's last growing cycle one of the Jack Herer plants popped out a hermaphrodite pod. I immediately turned off all the fans and exhaust vents and removed the hermaphrodite from the garden after covering it with a plastic bag. However, some of the other plants produced a few seeds. I germinated them and am growing them under 24 hours of light.

Inbreeding

I am planning to start breeding a strain that is short with a mild aroma, a high yield, and most importantly, is highly disease resistant.
To develop this strain I'll need to inbreed. However, this lowers the immune system and vigor. I don't want that to happen. To counter this tendency do I have to develop two separate lines that will be crossed eventually?

An ideal male is hard to find and is a valuable asset to any breeding program. Its genetics should be preserved. Cloning the plant is an excellent method of providing a continuing source of pollen.
