Dear Governor Henry; Judge, Jury, and Executioner

Would you like to be the judge? Would you like it to be your responsibility to decide peoples’ fates? Should they live or die? Should they be free or imprisoned?

State governors make these judgments all the time. A signature or its denial can mean love, caresses, the joys of freedom-- its denial, more time in a 6 x 9 with somebody who you would prefer not to associate with.

Sitting on Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry’s desk is a recommendation for Will Foster’s release. All it needs is the Governor’s signature. There is no time frame in which it needs to be signed.

Wangara Easy Fill Bags: NOT FOR MARIJUANA PRODUCTION. DO NOT BUY!!

Dear Ed,

Fortunately my secretary is observant so she went to your website and now I am clear on your background.

You have sent me this email re: Amsterdam Fair asking if you can have some pictures of my bags in use so you can publish in your new indoor horticultural book. Now that I have seen your website I understand obviously you have had one too many joints and it’s blown away what may be left of your brain cells.

I also know why you were in Amsterdam as its policy on drugs suits your lifestyle and then you visit Horti Fair to see if they have any new drug growing equipment.

You can find many recipes for oil making, marijuana cooking oil and butter online, but before using the material for that you might try making some kief!

Time Is Marching On! Even in Oklahoma!

We are all on high alert today here at Green Aid. A couple of weeks ago, Will Foster, who was extradited to Oklahoma, had his case heard by the Oklahoma parole board.

The first thing that happened is that all of the charges against him were thrown out as hearsay. The examiner said, in essence, that just because someone has charges against them, those charges cannot be used against them as evidence in another hearing. They also decided that Will had the right to confront the accuser in cross examination, although no one was prepared to testify against him.

MAKE ME! (Do It)

Regular readers of my blog know that one of the problems that the U.S. and the world are facing is Obama’s severe case of Marijuana Deficiency Syndrome (MDS).

Symptoms of this condition, are loss of grounding and acceptance of facts that are “generally regarded as true” without thorough examination. One example: dithering over whether to just continue the war, obliterate Afghanistan, or give them war reparations in the form of a trade agreement allowing the import of Afghani hash. Which would you choose?

Ask Ed: Grow Questions and Answers - Are My Buds Ready?

Internet reader

Ed's Rosenthal: The "stick test" is a good indication of bud dryness. Bend the little stem that holds the bud together. If it bends, the bud is still too wet. If it snaps, the bud has dried sufficiently.

The Age of Unreason

The battle between myth and reason was the heart of the Renaissance, which ushered in the Age of Reason.

For the first time in two millenia, philosophers and scientists were discovering or rediscovering ideas that we take for granted today; the ideas of cause and effect, the use of observation and controlled experiments.

Ask Ed: Grow Questions and Answers - Finger Hash

Question: My hands get all sticky from manicuring and the gooey resin gets under my nails. How can I keep the resin off me?

Internet reader

Ed's Rosenthal: Wear powder-free latex gloves. They keep hands clean and make it easy to collect the very potent resin from broken trichomes. When it is collected it is often referred to as “finger hash”.

Trichomes collect when the buds are handled. Once the gloves are sticky use them only for manicuring as they will pick up impurities if you perform other tasks. Powdered gloves leak their powder into the resin too.

Ask Ed: Grow Questions and Answers - Spacing Lights

Question: I will try to make this as simple as I can, it is kind of a convoluted question. You said that a 1000 watt High Pressure Sodium (HPS) light would be enough to cover a 4 x 4 foot canopy. I have four separate plant areas, each are about 5 x 5 feet. If I added a light mover, would a 1000 watt HPS per 5 x 5 ft area be sufficient lighting?

Additionally, you mentioned that it was more efficient to use three 600 watt bulbs instead of two 1000 watt bulbs instead of two 1000 watt bulbs because less energy is used while the same amount of lumens is produced.

Working In The Coal Mines

Recently I saw the movie Taking Woodstock. In many ways it was a fair depiction of the exuberance of the sixties.

Even though the war was going on, we were living in a society in which a good portion of youth were searching for something different and were trying to discover themselves. They were alienated from a system upon which they could have little effect- so they dropped out. Did a DIY (that is, do it yourself) and created their own realities.

Question: I have some good looking bud that is close to maturation. My problem is that there are little worms in the bud and they have been eating it, causing it to rot. What can I do to get them off and stop the bud rot?

Richard

Ed Rosenthal: The little “worms” are really small caterpillars that are having a feast at your expense. As you realize, it is essential to get rid of them. There are several things that you can do:

Do It Yourself

Yesterday, my associate at the office where I work complained to me that I always rant and rave about Obama and his MDS (Marijuana Deficiency Syndrome)- implying that I was getting redundant.

After listening to Obama’s speech yesterday about healthcare I realized that he is in a quagmire constructed by the health insurance industry. So expecting him to stand up to the criminal justice system regarding marijuana, or to the war industry regarding Afghanistan, is going to be very difficult. Don’t expect much. His MDS has set in.

The Problems of Intermittent Marijuana Use

There is a pond close to my house that is stocked with goldfish. I visit often, but only occasionally do I feed the fish. After awhile, the fish seem to recognize my footfall and gather close to the feeding area. This intermittent reward has found to be the strongest kind of conditioning for both animals and humans.

That is what lotteries and slot machines are all about. Occasional rewards trigger the reward and pleasure centers of our brains.

Ask Ed: Grow Tip - Keeping The Plants In Your Garden Dry

Many of our readers are growing outdoors and probably have noticed that the plant has changed from vegetative (growing leaves) to flowering (budding) and you now can see the white stigmas in full development. This is the time when plants are most vulnerable to powdery mildew and other molds- especially if it is humid, foggy, or rainy. There are several things that people can do to prevent mold.

1. They can use a fungicide that contains mostly potassium bicarbonate, which the plants consider fertilizer.

Autumn Outdoor Grow Reminders

Many of you are growing outside and you may have noticed that your plants have stopped growing taller and larger as quickly as they were and are flowering.

I have several suggestions about this:

First make sure that your plants are all female, if they have any male flowers on them, the entire plant should be removed because it is inevitable that if you leave the plants in the garden and try to pick off the flowers, you will miss some of the male flowers and they will pollinate the females, ruining your sinsimilla.

Town Hall Bong Hits for Obama!

For the past few weeks I have been discussing President Obama’s MDS (Marijuana Deficiency Syndrome). Since his body doesn’t naturally produce enough endocannabinoids for him to get into the zone and act totally rationally, he is in dire need of marijuana supplementation. This a very serious issue, and I haven’t found any medical doctors who are willing to tackle the problem.
