Denver May Lower Fine for Marijuana Possession to $1

The Denver Marijuana Policy Review Panel recommended today that the fine for marijuana possession be set at $1. If Denver's presiding judge accepts the recommendation, the $1 fine would be the lowest fine for marijuana possession in the entire nation.

Marijuana Proponents Urge Colleges To Mellow Out

Hey dude, can we talk? Marijuana advocates who say pot is safer than alcohol want colleges to wade into a hazy debate over whether schools' tough pot penalties are actually worsening their drinking woes.

They argue that stiff punishments for being caught in a campus dorm with pot steer students to booze and add to binge drinking, drunken brawls and other booze-soaked troubles.

Cannabis Culture Magazine Editor Marc Emery is encouraging all marijuana smokers to boycott Kellogg's cereal company for dropping their sponsorship of Olympian Michael Phelps after he was caught on film smoking from a bong.

Michael Phelps is a 23-year-old swimmer who won eight Olympic medals (six gold, two bronze) for swimming competitions in 2004, and eight more Olympic GOLD medals in 2008, making him the most successful Olympic athlete in the 113-year history of the Olympic Games.
