I was working in the pallet yard at Fraser Regional Correctional Center a while back - Jan. 25th to be exact - when I noticed one of the guards reading the Province newspaper. Just for a lark I asked him what my horoscope said. It read:

"Gemini (May 21-June 20) This is a lovely day. The moon is in your sign making wonderful aspects to the brilliant Sun and serious Saturn. Basically, you're in the right place, at the right time, saying the right thing to the right person. Focus on travel, vacations, higher education, publishing, the media, and foreign countries."

This article was written in Fraser but I chose to wait to publish it until after I was released - those who run the jail may not have taken my constructive criticism with a completely open mind. They might have taken my critique personally and they might have punished me in some way for it - but it's not an attack on any one person or even an institution ... it's only an attack on one of the most bone-headed policies ever conceived by human beings within an institution. Despite the risks to self, I couldn't help writing about it ...

In middle December I was assaulted by an inmate here at Fraser Regional Correctional Center. It happened while I was stuck in maximum-security, awaiting my turn to be moved into minimum-security, where non-violent prisoners are supposed to be held.

In the shadow of Marc's battle with the US government, a smaller drama is unfolding here in Vancouver. I am being sentenced for three counts of s. 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA). Two of the counts are possession of cannabis for the purposes of trafficking and the third count is possession of psilocybin for the purposes of trafficking.

A woman serving a short sentence in a Houston, Texas, jail for possession of marijuana died in custody over the weekend, and officers are not saying how or why.

The 29-year-old, identified as Theresa Anthony, had expected to spend just two and a half weeks behind bars in the Harris County lockup. On Saturday, Cynthia Prude, Theresa’s mother, received a phone call from the jail’s Chaplain informing her that her daughter was dead.

I Was Arrested In Dubai For Two Cannabis Seeds

I was arrested at Dubai International Airport for possessing two seeds of cannabis in my bag. I really did not know they were there and it wasn't even my bag. I spent the next three months in jail awaiting trial. It must be told, all in the desert is not gold.
