I grow in a 6' x 5' area using two 1000-watt HPS air-cooled lights. I use a 40 site aeroflow system. Water temp: 80 degrees. Room temp 85 degrees. One day I went to check my plants and what were healthy lush white roots had become a brown mushy mess. Thick gelatin goo formed everywhere, binding the roots together.

Mite-infested buds

Is it useful to wash off infested buds before drying? Or would you just be saying bye-bye to the resin glands? Do you have other suggestions for cleaning mite-infested buds?

I don't think that it's healthy or appetizing to smoke or use pest-infested plants. Aside from the pops and unusual taste, pests are vectors for disease.

Algae on rockwool

I have a friend who has a small indoor operation going on. It works well and he has a good strain, but green algae is growing all over the rockwool and entirely covers its surface. So far it doesn't seem to have affected the plants. Do I have a problem? How can I get rid of this algae?

Flea beetles

I have seen extremely small insects, about 1/10 of an inch, crawling around on the soil of one of my indoor flowering plants. At first I thought they might be mites but they were nowhere to be found on the leaves. Furthermore, these insects hop when trying to pick them up. I first discovered the insects when I noticed a trail of ants going into the soil but I quickly sprinkled cinnamon to try and kill them.

Failing clones

Water "lice"

We are using a drip system in a soilless mix. The other day we moved a plant and saw hundreds of tiny white bugs in the water standing at the bottom of the pail. They are very quick and constantly jump around in the water and tend to collect into colonies.
What are they? Should we kill them?
