AIRY BUD
My plants are about 3 feet tall and have immaculate looking buds on them, but I have been unable to get large and dense buds even though all the hairs and stigmas are completely red when harvested. My 4?x8? system is lit by two 1000w HPS lamps on tracks. The room stays in the mid-70?s.

I have a screen and I kiefed all the sun leaves and trim. I'm looking at a big pile of the kief. Now I dream of smoking some real hash. I remember beautiful pliable hash leather in a tea shop in Nepal and hazy days at the Bluebird sampling the hashes of the world. Is there a way for me to turn my kief into hash without a press or fancy equipment?

I moved into a house that had been vacant for a few years and started cleaning it out. I found four mason jars of primo-looking buds in the basement. They were packed into a travel bag with receipts from 1999. Then, in the attic, I found some sort of hash rolled into long cylinders. It was tightly wrapped in cellophane and brightly colored metal foil.

The excitement I get when entering a grow room is always that of minor paranoia, mixed with intense excitement. I say this mainly because the rooms I find myself in these days are much larger than your standard closet or basement set up. The room I am referring to in this article will go down in the history of sweetest grows I've ever visited.

Rubbing for hash

I read your article, Ed's Swiss trip (CC#20, October 1999), about how your friend extracted finger hash by rubbing the leaves for their resins prior to harvest. How soon after a plant's photoperiod is flipped can you do this? Does this have any effect on the quality of yield once the plant is harvested?

Mite-infested buds

Is it useful to wash off infested buds before drying? Or would you just be saying bye-bye to the resin glands? Do you have other suggestions for cleaning mite-infested buds?

I don't think that it's healthy or appetizing to smoke or use pest-infested plants. Aside from the pops and unusual taste, pests are vectors for disease.
