NeverGetBusted Tip: How To Spot an Undercover Kop

I worked as an undercover cop in dozens of drug stings. I bought drugs. I sold drugs. I traded guns for drugs. I did all of this under the direction and watchful eye of our American government. I feel bad for using my undercover skills to cage non-violent citizens so now I use my undercover skills to bust krooked kops.

I have been criticized by some police officers for revealing how to spot undercovers in my second film, NeverGetRaided. I dedicated an entire chapter to this subject where I explain undercover police are causing more harm to citizens then the drugs themselves. (Our drug laws are causing the violence, not the drugs.)

Police and the media make it sound as if officers are losing their lives every day in the War On Drugs. According to the FBI’s Uniformed Crime Reports, between the years 1996 and 2006, only 28 officers lost their lives during drug operations. This means that only 2.8 cops died compared to the millions of citizens who lost their lives or their freedom in the same time period. Who ever said the life of a cop was more valuable then the life of a citizen? In fact, it’s suppose to be the other way around. Police are suppose to lay down their lives to protect citizens. I tell any officers who are worried that my information will help citizens reveal their identity, to stop working as an undercover because they are causing more harm than the offender.

Hopefully these few tips will help you avoid being busted by the undercover agents who are still out there trying to score your stash.

Tip #1: Don't be fooled: when asked, undercover police DO NOT have to tell you they are working undercover. I’m not sure how this rumor started but it is not true and actually helps law enforcement. Many times as an undercover, suspects would ask if I were a cop and explain I must tell if I were. I would respond, “No. I’m not a cop and you are correct. I would have to tell you if I were.” The suspects were always comfortable with this answer and would sometimes comment on how cool the “must tell” law was.

Tip#2: The best way to reveal an undercover cop is to insist they take a large bong hit in your presence. Informants are ordered to never use drugs during operations, but often break the agreement. Police are NEVER allowed to partake in the use of drugs during operations (or anytime for that matter). In fact, I would often be drug-tested immediately after an operation to prove I didn’t partake. The test results would be added to the prosecutors file in case the defendant ever claimed I was a user. But beware: police are taught how to mimic a joint-hit by allowing the smoke to pass from their mouth and through their noses without any smoke entering their lungs. It’s impossible to fake a bong hit, so always insist on that form of ingestion when dealing with any suspicious persons.

Although this method is not 100% fool-proof in identifying a cop, as there are still a few rogue agents who will use drugs regardless, it’s a great filter, and will make you a little suspicious of any persons unwilling to hit a bong.

Purchase a copy of NeverGetRaided and help me get elected as Texas Attorney General 2010.

UMMMMM.....

Barry, I think that your intentions are somewhat sincere. On the other hand it's hard to excuse the fact that you did put numerous people in prison and ripped apart even more families. That being said, your demeanor now comes off as sort of being an opportunist capitalist. If you truely felt regret for the things that you have done then the DVD's you make would not be sold. You would make everything available to everyone. If you are using this scheme to raise money for your political endeavor, well that just goes to show that only the wealthy will hold the seats to make the law's which keep us, the common U.S. citizen's, under their control so they can benefit from our misfortunes.

Barry, thanks for doing what you do. I have watched your DVDs and some of the lessons learned are priceless. I'd rather support your efforts to keep good people out of prison than pay your salary as a cop to help you put 'em in.
If you are really serious about running for AG of Texas, I'll look for your name on the ballot.

My parents, schools and the churches made me think I was doing the right thing as a narcotics officer. Now I know they were wrong and I was wrong. That doesn't mean I'm stupid. In fact, I have made a living my whole life doing what I like to do. I like busting kops and helping citizens and I make a living at it...what's wrong with that? If I would have given away my first video as you suggest, I would not have been able to do the following:

Volume 2, testify as an expert witness, maintain a website full of free information, run for AG, launch KopBuster.com and travel to spread the message. I poured every dime I made back into the movement. I have four kids and a wife and I don't live a rich lifestyle.

There is an unfortunate poverty mentality in some circles of activism that says activist should be broke and jealous of anything that isn't.

You should spend some time reading the measures I'm going to enact in Texas upon taking office as AG. http://electbarrycooper.com

If you are a real activist, you would spend your time supporting me and not hating on me because you are totally wrong in your assessment of NeverGetBusted.

What have you done lately for the movement?

Peace,

Barry

I am neither broke nor jealous of your acheivements. And I am happy that both you and your family are doing well. It's just when a person embarks on a political endeavor most of them loose sight of the reason they chose that path. Our current president has, as I'm sure your well aware of.

Don't loose sight is the first thing that I have to say.

The second thing is a response to your comment, "What have I done lately for the movement?"

Well not much. That's because for the past eight years I rotted in a state prison because someone like you used to be caught me with marijuana. So my time as an activist just started. I gave eight years of my life, away from my kids and family, because I had dried plant material. Sorry I'm not the activist that you are. If I were that would give my parole officer the green light to put me back in. I'm not hating on anyone. Most of all, you. If your choosing this path for your life then be prepared to be looked at like any other politician. You have alot to prove and the microscope you'll be under will be huge. You'll have to earn the trust and respect from alot of people, including myself.

Peace to you and yours

Sorry

I can totally understand why you are angry and bitter. I would be 2. I'm sorry our country teaches good people the wrong things which is what caused you 2 b separated from your family for 8 years. I take full responsibility for the horrible things I did years ago as a drug kop...I live with it everyday.

I can't change what I did back then or the damage I caused but I can win Attorney General and immediately begin releasing non-violent prisoners. I busted those kops in Odessa (my ex partners) so I could sell a reality show called KopBusters. The reality show will give me the attention I need to win AG. Candi and I didn't stumble into these things. We planned them methodically and carefully for 2.5 years. I'm focused and look forward to proving myself to you.

Peace,

Barry

Thanks Barry

I am familiar with the clip that you were talking about in the above reply. I had no idea that the officer's that were busted were you ex partners. There may have been a note or attached statement but I failed to see it. Barry, it takes BALLS to do something of that magnitude. And being one that once stood behind the Blue Wall of Silence it takes even bigger balls.

I am a recovering alcoholic since I have been out of the pen. I hardly ever drank before I went in there. I wasn't forced to drink when I got out, but that was my only alternative. If I smoked a bowl or joint it would show up in my weekly drug test. If I drank I would have to only abstain for 10-12 hours before my screen.

Here's something that you may consider as an agenda in your infancy stages of A.G. How about hiring an outside independant drug screen lab to RANDOMLY test all civil servants and employees? Make them all piss in the cup while they sit there and watch you, like any other parolee or probationee has to do. Then those who flunk should be subjected to the same ridicule and punishment as any one else. And to take it a step further, make their name's public as well. Whether it be through live media (local broadcast news) or newspapers, or even the net.

Those who have the power to take away freedom should be punished more severely than others. I am neither hateful nor bitter. I am just trying to do what is right and apply what I have learned in the past eight years so that others do not make the mistakes that I did. I think of myself as being frustrated more than anything. I know that Rome was not built in a day, but the man who ruled it was.

Peace to you and yours, take care.

Thank you

Re: the parent comment - Yeah whatever. The past is just that. Thanks for your tips, I think they benefit society in general. The world is a far better place with people like yourself working to curb the damage caused by the abuse of power that is the "war on drugs" (aka war on personal freedom). If you can manage to find a way to turn a profit as well, well - that's what makes this the (once great) country it is.

Very Kewwl

Wow, that is very cool Barrie I am starting to understand how law can so easily be misinterpreted. I always thought 1. was true too and it is but you can answer in a way that doesn't lie.
and thanks for number 2, I haven't to worry for me but some places I'm buying at, we all sit around and talk, the many people and you never know..I'd love to test that and add to it a family bong pic becasue nobody gives a shit in Canada that you smoke it and have a pic becasue no cop would waste his time, yet anyway. So have a wall or short video.
just a thought, many of us don't care of pics being users just don't deal in front of your camera.

so you went from being Uncle Sams bottom ranking dog to sniffing Mark Emerys butt.. Son, you got a problem with authority-real or perceived and that is, you suck up to it on a full tim basis...get a life if your wife will let you

Hey Barry, I just wanted to write to you that ALL of us in the movement for indiscrimination smoking healing herbs vs. alcohol propogated and accepted EVERYWHERE (and far more damaging, not to mention tobacco) ..that all of us, minus one or two DOUCHEBAGS, really APPRECIATE your efforts sir

We appreciate your being part of our movement, your story seeing the light of what you were doing and turning from those ways AND encouraging other officers to do so especially undercovers etc..

Thank you for your videos and site.. but most of all for being willing to publicly defend the movement and try to help the world through the media (corporate and your own) SEE more CLEARLY how DECENT and mislabelled cannabis and healing herbs are, and how HORRID and ALSO mislabelled in the opposite direction, these arcane LAWS and especially police actions, raids, and abuses of power are too..

We love you man, seriously.

Peace

What?

TopDog,

I'm certain you are a kop or you would speak with more reason and logic. How is quitting an unfair drug war wrong and how is being great friends with Marc "sucking up to authority?"

I do have a problem with illegitimate authority and our current criminal justice system is illegitimate.

I bet you are one of my ex-partners that I never respected and later busted in the Odessa sting.

Hey Barry.. man, you are an INSPIRATION to me with such a clearly defined message: (from the about page on your site)

"Crimes against persons and property are the only acts that should be prohibited. Character imperfections such as selfishness and dishonor cause people to commit crimes, not the drugs. Drugs never cause people to do things against their will. Legalize, educate and control but don't prohibit."

Truly inspired. I wish I could vote for you but I'm in the UK :( Anyway good luck and thank you for your clarity of meaning

Thank you Mr. Barry Cooper, thank you again and yes please ignore the fear from the last ditch effort on their losing control of us. They cannot hold us down in fear when people such as Marc or Yourself stand up and show us that THESE people do NOT have the power they show us, we give our rights away which gives them the power. Learn to defend yourself first and then you will learn to defend others. ( Love this saying: Feed a man a fish and he eats for a day, Teach a man to fish and he feeds himself for life.)Thank you for keeping up the fight by helping us protect ourselves and the ones we love. They trivialize but the truth is people are LOSING their life to this harmful ignorant war than CANNOT EVER BE WON. This is so very insane , I don't know how said this but insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.

You da man

Barry-

I grew up in San Antonio, I still have a lot of family all over TEXAS -so I have an understanding of what you're up against there as an activist & as a politician.

I just want to say that, for lack of a better word, that I'm 'proud' of you. TEXAS is like no other state; it's a state that on one hand produces nut jobs like Bush & Perry - then at the same time has thinkers like J. Hightower & the only republican that I ever voted for; Ron Paul ....and hopefully one day I hope to say the greatest attorney general; Barry Cooper.

If I still lived in Tejas, you'd have my vote hands down. That said, You have my word that I will spread the good word about you with all my friends & relatives to get you elected!

Awesome!

I've seen your videos and studied them as best as I could and get this...I don't even partake in the herb! Why study so intently? Because much like you've done, I too want to educate people that weed is victimless. The only "victims" are those with a terrible nutritional value printed on the side of a wrapper!

Sure I used to smoke back in the day but once hash virtually disappeared I didn't enjoy not knowing how strong/weak the weed would be until i'd smoke it. Some nights felt like i smoked dryer lint whereas more often than not, some of the weed was just way too strong for my liking!

Anyhow, my point being, I study your material in order to help the younger generation understand their rights and not become a korrupt departments statistics for the weekly newspapers. The most powerful weapon to any governemnt is an educated population!

Fight the good fight Barrie and again, thank you!
