The top one or two vote getters in each state's primary get to have "delegates" attend a big Presidential Nomination Convention in late summer, where 2,439 delegates select a winner by a series of ballots until one candidate gets 1,220 votes or more, or a majority. The primary voting is held as early as January in New Hampshire, Iowa, Florida, South Carolina and Nevada. Fifteen states hold their primary vote on what is called Super Tuesday, February 5, including influential states like California and New York. Twenty-five states hold their primary between February 9 and June 3, 2008.games
