Hemp advocate Aaron Anderson continues his lawsuit against Hawaii County. Police seized 25 pounds of sterilized hempseed from Anderson in 1991, and charged him with possession of marijuana. The case ended in a hung jury.
After deputy prosecutor Kay Iopa stated in court that Anderson was charged because of his outspoken pro-pot views, Anderson launched a lawsuit against Iopa and the County for violating his civil rights.

In January, the judge ruled that Anderson would be allowed to include evidence of profits lost by his hemp business due to the police action.
