Rockwool clones

Should I remove the rockwool during transplanting?

I plan on rooting clones in 1 inch rockwool cubes, then transplanting them to my drip system, which uses expanded clay pellets. Should I remove the clone from the rockwool or can I just place the cube with rooted clone an inch below the surface of the pellets? I don't want to damage the fragile roots during transplanting.

Leave the roots in the cube when you transplant, whether it's to soil or hydroponic system. The roots will grow from the rockwool to the new medium. Removing the roots from the cube will damage them and set the plant back.
