There are two relevant temperatures. The first is at the canopy and the other is the soil temperature. The temperature at the canopy is relevant because this shows what the plant leaves are experiencing. The soil temperature is important because that's where the roots are.

Generally cannabis does best with a temperature around 74-76?F (23-24?C) for both leaves and roots. When the roots are cool, the leaves can withstand warmer temperatures, and vice versa. For instance, with roots cooled to 62?F (17?C) the leaves would do best with a temperature around 85? F (30?).
