UK doctors back medical pot

England's doctors still want to prescribe cannabis

A survey of 1,000 UK doctors by Medix UK found that over 80% would prescribe cannabis for some ailments if allowed to do so. 54% claimed the current pot laws are too strict, and about a third backed immediate legalization. 44% believed marijuana caused less health problems than tobacco, alcohol, prescribed drugs and banned drugs.
A 1997 report by the British Medical Association backed making cannabis a prescription drug.
