On October 25, over 70 workers at a New Zealand forestry mill were lined up, searched by police and sniffed by a drug dog, after anonymous accusations that some of them smoked cannabis before work.
Union Secretary Andrew Little complained to the Otago Daily Times that 20 police officers "manhandled" workers, dragging one from the toilet and strip-searching another. A "small amount" of pot was found on one man, but no charges were laid. The union has filed grievances.
