3 states sit on the hemp fence

? New Hampshire came close but did not pass a popular pro-hemp bill, despite its being backed by the State Agricultural Commissioner and several House Committees.
Police, DEA and other drug war agencies actively opposed the bill, as did Governor Shaheen. The bill was postponed for "further study," where it has languished for three years.

? In February, the Illinois Senate Agriculture Committee voted 6-0 to allow a small hemp plot to actually be grown and studied.

The measure now goes to the full Senate, which recently endorsed a feasibility study into hemp farming within the state.

? South Dakota is debating a bill to allow hemp cultivation with a THC limit of 1%.
