The amount of time effort and scarce reasources spent on combating the drug war should be redirected to combat the real problems in society such as Violence, theft and anti social behaviour. I keep hearing the same old tired platitudes from the prohibitionist's, Canabis is a gate way drug, it begets violence and theft when the simple answer is it isnt the canabis but the prohibition that causes societys ill's.

Kash Heed wants more police, dedicated prosecuters etc...if he really wants to tackle the violence and Anti-Social behaviour he needs to wise up and take away the bigest motivator for the drug gangs and that is SIMPLE ECONOMICS. Legalize it. Now you get organizations like the DEA and other Drug task forces mouthing these same old platitudes again for the same reason SIMPLE ECONOMICS. I wonder what would happen to all these narcotics agents if they didn't need to enforce drug laws... well like nearly 10% of the US population they'd be out of work so just like the gangs they need prohibition. Does this not make the DEA et al nothing more than yet another violent gang?

And the nightmare cycle contiues and will continue until people get off their back sides and vote. When less than half the population decides whats best for the rest of us we all lose. I would ask that everyone in BC, Canada, and every other democratic country in the world take part in making the world a better and safer place for our selves and the next generation Vote for regular people for elected office becuase professional politicians will never look out for the people only themselves. Apologies for the slightly wondering rant. Rant over.
