Maple Ridge's Michelle Rainey is also one of 1,137 people in Canada who hold a Personal Use Production Licence, or Designated-Person Production Licence, from Health Canada – a permit that allows her to grow legal pot.Somewhere in a quiet corner of Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows, a cannabis crop is being harvested right now, legally.

The half-dozen or so known local growers are a select bunch of 4,869 people in Canada authorized to possess the narcotic plant under Marihuana Medical Access Regulations.

This school doesn't have a problem with students not paying attention.

"They're paying us to come, and our classes are full," says Jeff Jones, chancellor of the Los Angeles branch of Oaksterdam University, where students learn the business of marijuana from seed to ash.

Attitudes are changing as 14 states now have laws allowing some form of legal marijuana use with a doctor's recommendation. And with legalization comes a growing cannabis industry.

I have met Gary Johnson and he is terrific.

He will compete with Ron Paul for the Republican nomination in 2011 and 2012, ultimately I think they will be on the same ticket and they can defeat President Obama.

This one is a masterpiece from Don Seibold of Wetumpka and appeared in today's Anniston Star. Don is 74, a war veteran and suffers from chronic pain. However, he will not break the law in order to see if medical marijuana would alleviate his suffering.

Way to go Don!!

CANNABIS CULTURE - So, there is a legal substance that makes people feel good and is known to be relatively harmless? BAN IT!

That is the mindset of the euphoriaphobic lawmakers in Kansas and Missouri, who want to ban a blend of "herbal incense" called K2, which includes synthetic chemicals that are said to mimic a marijuana high.

Cries of CIA Cover-Up After Plane Shot Down

Relatives of an American missionary family killed when their light plane was shot down over Peru during a CIA operation nine years ago have accused the United States government of a cover-up.

Jim and Veronica Bowers were working as Christian missionaries in jungle along the Amazon River in northern Peru.
